Upcoming Elections

Tennessee is not a red state; it's a non-voting state.

Tennessee has consistently ranked last in voter turnout in the United States. This means that a majority of Tennesseans are not having their voices heard in elections. This is a problem because it allows a small number of people to control the political process and make decisions that affect everyone.

You can help to change this by running for office and by voting. If you are passionate about making Tennessee a better place, we encourage you to consider running for office. You don't need to be a professional politician or have a lot of experience. All you need is a desire to serve your community and make a difference.

If you are not interested in running for office, you can still make a big impact by voting. Every vote matters, and even if you think your vote won't make a difference, it does. There are many important elections happening in Tennessee all the time, and your vote could help to decide the outcome.

Here are some reasons why you should run for office or vote:

  • The Tennessee Republican Party is radical and out of touch with the majority of Tennesseans. They are banning books, refusing women bodily autonomy, and are anti-teacher and anti-public education.

  • Your vote matters--especially in local elections. Every election is important, and your vote could help to decide the outcome.

  • You can make a difference. When you vote or run for office, you are helping to shape the future of Tennessee.

  • Your voice deserves to be heard. You have a right to participate in the political process and have your voice heard.

  • We need more diversity in elected office. Tennessee's elected officials should reflect the diversity of the state's population.

  • We need more young people, women, and minorities in elected office.

If you are interested in running for office, there are many resources available to help you get started. You can contact your local election commission or us at coffeecountydemocrats@gmail.com. We will be happy to help you!
